The sun is a demanding thing. It spills across the floorboards, asking for open eyes and upright spines. But there is a deeper country past the edge of the afternoon, where the air is thick and cool, and the broken things are allowed to stay broken. A house stands at the threshold of this quiet. The door is closed, not against the light, but because the leaving has already happened. Inside, the dust gathers like a grey skin, burying the handprints and the hollowed-out spaces, leaving only the faithful dark to sit beside the walls. But when the dark is no longer enough, and a false warmth sparks to life in the baseboards, the house must face a fire that consumes what the light left behind. Told in three movements, Tenebrae, Residuum, and Cineres this is a haunting, atmospheric tale of absence, decay, and the crushing weight of remaining when the light has forgotten your name.
